Squares - Art Journal page

I made this page today, by using a selfmade background. You can find more details here and here. Thanks for looking :)

Kortlift - Card lift

I got challenged by Snuppeline to lift this card, and I've done my best. I've even sewn by hand! Not with regular needle and thread, but with the Crop-a-Dile and some Scrappers Floss :) The stamp (from hÄnglar & stÄnglar) is colored with Distress Ink. The Swirl is a grungeboard from Tim Holtz, painted both with Crackle Paint, regular paint and some Crackle Accent on top.

The card - with the dominating squared frame - is perfect for this week's challenge at the Wednesday Stamper: "Be Squared".

Prinsessen på erten - The Princess and the Pea

I've made a new challenge for my AJ-blog, strongly inspired by this weeks theme at the Wednesday Stampers: DIVAS. My diva turn out to be a Princess with strong diva attitude... For more pictures and explainations, please visit my AJ-blog.

Wednesday Stamper - alter photo

I used the WS challenge to make a recipe card for a friend of mine. The text on the card says: "Moms best's" and "Crispbread".

I made a bakcground using alcohol ink. I cut out the lady from the picture, glued it to the background and painted som parts of the background. I also glued on some newspaper, stamped with a lace stamp, added some geometric figures of painted cardstock. Then I doodled a frame, added the printed text and decorated the lady with a safety pin with a charm and a tag hanging. (The recipe is on the back of the card, and I'm giving the card together with some new baked crispbread.)

WS - arrows

This was a real challenge - that's for sure! Arrows, huh?! Can't even remember that I've ever used an arrow in my art anytime! But I love challenges :) Here is my entry at the Wednesday Stamper this week.

I've tried some unused products; ColorWash (Ranger) and "E-z walnut ink tintz" (Fiber Scraps). I used a water paint paper and dabbed and splashed with the ink. I draw and cut out the arrows in cardstock and used them as stensils. I colored them with StazOn and spong. The picture is from a mag, some of the texts are stickers, the rest is doodling. I also used some mosaic tiles that I bought a long time ago...

Thanks for looking :)
...

Lilla - Purple

Here's my entry for the Wednesday Stamper challenge this week. I started to play with the purple colour, and felt that I just had to add some orange and yellow, too. And made myself a page for my Art Journal. As you probably can see, the page is about happiness, joy - and life. The written text is from a song made by Elin Furubotn, a Norwegian singer and songwriter. It says something like:

..."Life is strange. Sometimes ups, sometimes down. But maybe that's the way it's supposed to be... We stand in the middle of Life - in the beautiful time of Spring. If you're crying or if you're laughing - life is all we get."

My page is strongly inspired by Suzan and her stunning Art Journal pages. Thanks for the inspiration!

(For dere som leser norsk; det kommer nok noen flere ord her, men først må jeg på korøvelse...)

Wednesday Stamper - first letter first name

Gee, it's been a while since I updated my blog... sorry about that. I've tried several times to be creative and make someting, but each time I've left the room after just a short while - quite grumpy... hmmfrr... I hate those periods... but, I also know that they'll pass and the creativity will be back :)

In the meantime I've read some books, working in my garden, watching films... Actually not bad at all :) And today I finally could feel a growing feeling of inspiration! And I love that feeling.

At the Wednesday Stamper the challenge for the week is to make something with the first letter in your first name. I ended up making myself a hanging signboard for the door to my office. I cut out my letter in thick cardstock, painted it with MM paint and stamped like a maniac! To highlight some of the motifs, I've used a white pen. I also got to try my new Crackle Paint (Ranger). It is SO cool! And it dries so quick. And the colors - yummi! :) I also used a black wax crayon along the edges. All the stamped texts are from ClubStamp.

Thanks for looking - I'm heading back to my work space... I have an ISMAKI-sketch to use :)

Art Journal & Wednesday Stamper challenge

This weeks challenge at WS is 'glasses', and since I don't have any stamps of glasses, I decided to make a page for my Art Journal using pictures of my collection of the glasses I've weared since I started using glasses 12 years old. And oh my God - the glasses are just stunningly beautiful! *lol* Okey, let's look at them as treasures with great sentimental value!

The red/lilac plastic framed glasses is typical for the eighties, right? And then I had some years with the classic 'student glasses' - the round ones... In fact, the roundier, the cooler... mine wasn't too cool, I admit that... My next glasses is more sofisticated, like I had to show the world how mature I had become...

Today I just wear contact lences. And totally love it! I just use my glasses when I fumble from the bed to the bathroom in the morning. Actually I hate having something on my nose...

So, let's give a praise to the person who invented the lences! :)

Wednesday Stamper - stars & sparkle 2

I made one more entry for the challenge, really inspired by Christine Baier - thanks :) Love her stars and wanted to make my own.

But I struggled. I had so many things I wanted to use on my star, and it came out quite chaotic at first. The quote of Nietzsche fit perfect:

"You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star."

After adding all the elements, I tried to find a way to bind it all together, and stamped with a swirly stamp (from Stempelglede) on all the edges. And it made it look even more chaotic! At first :) But after adding som blue and black wax crayon and smudging it a bit together, I feel I managed to give the star a kind of frame. And as a final touch, I used the crackle accent on the edges, and painted some yellow dots. And - of course - to give the stars the brilliant sparkle, I used the Stickles on them.

Thanks for looking :)

Wednesday Stamper - stars & sparkle

I'm in the mood for playing :) So I used the WS-challenge to try out some new stuff that I bought a long time ago, but haven't tried yet. The theme was stars & sparkle. I made a tag card, by using chipboard tags, painted with MM paint. The stamps are our own design (you'll find them here), and the texts are unmounted stamps from here and there :) I've added some doodling and chipboards, and the tags are tied together with a book ring embellished with ribbons. To add some extra sparkle, I've used both Rangers Crackle Accents and Rangers Stickles (Star Dust) for the first time ever! I'm really not a big glitter fan, but it worked on the star :) And the crackle medium is so cool!

Thanks for looking :)

Bladrik grein

Eit nytt hjarte – er det så rart?
Det får vi da rett som det er!
Det får vi kvar gong vi møter
ein som vi rett får kjær.
Da brest det fram i vår bringe
under hans varme ord

for deg, venn, må losne sist!

Happy Valentines day to you all! I've used this week's challenge at Wednesday Stamper to make some new pages in my Art Journal. And the theme: LOVE :) I'm sorry that all the text is in Norwegian... But the main message is easy to translate:
I'm so happy and lucky to have both a great boyfriend and a lot of good friends who love me just the way I am. And these pages are dedicated to you all. Thanks for visiting my blog! You make my day :)

Wednesday Stamper - charms

This week's challenge at WS is to use charms. I've made one little heart, by stamping, embossing and painting with Distress, and tied it together with another heart charm. Instead of making an ordinary card, I've used a cute, tiny paper bag (8 x 9,5 cm). The stamps are from a Norwegian stamp designer Gunhild. She designs the most beautiful stamps. I've stamped on water paint paper, embossed the motifs and painted them with Distress Ink.

Thanks for looking :)

WS & ISMAKI

Resultatet ble to kort basert på to utfordringer.

Here is my entry to the third sketch at the ISMAKI-bloggen. The motifs are stamped and embossed on water colour paper, and colored with Distress Ink.

Moro :)

My second card is for the Wednesday Stamper, and this week's challenge is to make Button Dollz. Strange stuff, but so fun to make! That's why I love the WS - the challenges there allways make me try out new stuff. Thanks :)

Wednesday Stamper - Gothic Arch

I've been a really lazy stamper the last months. It's so much easier to use scraps, rubons, stickers etc... So, it's time for some stamping! I've decided to join the weekly Wednesday Stamper challenges - hopefully to wipe some dust off all my stamps... :)

This week's challenge is "Gothic Arch". Actually I've never had warm feelings for these art pieces, but I'm hooked! Love to make non-squared art! And it's really no problem to make and use these ones as cards either - there's plenty of room on the back side, it's possible to make a 'double decker', and you can even make cute little books, like Belinda did. Thanks for the idea! :)

I've made mine of card stock. I've painted the background with acrylic paint and some Lumiere, and I also added some leaf gold. The motifs are stamped and embossed. Stamps from Tim Holtz, Paperbag Studio, Club STamp and AA Design. I've also used stickers and a white pen to do some doodling. The three pieces are bound together with ribbon.

Tiddelituuu :)

Two challenges in one; using the WS theme as my AJ pages today. Didn't know what to make today, but ended up challenging myself in using colors I hardly use; browns. I rather prefer the bright and vibrant colors :) The result didn't turn out as great or stunning art, but today I don't care. I had a good time making it, so let that be the most important today! Tiddelituuu :)

WS - just in time :)

This week's Wednesday Stamper Challenge was to make "inchies". And if I thought the MOO-cards were tiny, the inchies are tinytinytiiiiny :) 2,5 x 2.5 cm... Yepp, told you they're tinytinytiiiiny!

Okey, have to admit they're really fun to make! :) And I made a lot! But what on earth do you use the inchies for? So tiny they'll get lost everywhere! I had to put my inchies together and make a card out of them. Kind of a mosaic card...

Thanks for looking :)

Wednesday Stamper - MOO cards

MOO-cards? Ku-kort? *knis* Neida, det kommer ikke ku-kort her! MOO-kort er minikort i størrelsen 2,8 x 7 cm. Og det er smått, asså! Bare prøv selv! Smått, men utrolig spennende format!

MOO-cards?? Yeah, I do agree - sounds kind a strange... Cards with cows? *lol* Nope, you will not find cow-cards in my blog! MOO-cards are tiny tiny cards (2,8 x 7 cm), and the format is really exciting! Gives you the opportunity to use your tiny stamps, and to get rid of left over paper pieces, and you really do have to think in a new way when you make them! Here are my cow-cards :)

WS - fish.......!

I do have stamps for any occasion - but not a single fish! I don't like fishes, and ain't no big fan of eating them either. And who on earth do I make a "Fish card" to??

So I admit it right away - this week's challenge at Wednesday Stamper will not end up on my Favorite list... Sorry. I really struggled to make this card... yack...

The background is with alcoholic ink, and so is the fishes. They're cut out by hand and then dry-embossed in my Cuttlebug. Added some Metallic Rubons on the embossed pattern and had some Krylon on the edges. The "net" is a ribbon, all the red is rubons and I also used some 'rain drops' and diamonds. And as THE thing a added two stunningly beautiful eyelet fishes!

Okey, mission completed...!

Wednesday - one more tryptich :)

This is so fun! I'm really inspired! This time I've made 3 separate ATCs and then used them all together on a card. The colored background is actually a picture from a magazine; a roll of tapestry. Cool, right? I've used definition stamps, rubons and some doodling.

Wednesday Stamper - Tryptich

Artig :) Så, her er to forsøk.

I visited Wednesday Stamper and found this challenge: Make a Tryptich! How cool is that! :) Here are mine:

I've used alcoholic ink to make the background paper, stamped with StazOn and stamps from Stempelglede and Norsk Stempelblad.
