2S4Y - Kazan's sketch #8

Did I say I love Mondays? Monday means time for a new sketch from 2 sketches 4 you :) And here is my contribution this week. I made a box for 6"x6" cards (Thanks for the idea, Magnhild *hug*).

Start cutting to pieces of cardstock, 19 x 30,5 cm. Fold som that you have 3 parts - 7,5 cm, 6 cm and 16,5 cm. These pieces are for the main box.
In order to stabilize the box you need to make one piece for the top and one for the bottom. Use thick cardstock and decorate it with paper.

Glue the two pieces to the card (to the 6 cm parts).

The next step is to glue the two box pieces together. Then you'll make the decoration. (Here you can see the front and the back of my box.)
For the front of the cover/lid, I made a panel of patterned paper and used the sewing machine to mount a lace.
The front mounted on the cover.
To be able to close/lock the box, I sew on a button. I used a stamp from Norsk Stempelblad as a motif on the front of my box.
I wanted to make a grip on top of my box. I punched out some circles, and then used the Crop-a-Dile to make holes.
Like this:
Then I knitted on some ribbon.

For the back of my box:

Okey, time to mount the whole box together. Cut two pieces of cardstock (13 x 12 cm) and fold them like shown on the picture.
Glue the pieces to the sides of the box.
Like this:
And then glue the box together.

Here are some more pics of my box:

Thanks for looking :) Wish you all a creative week! Hope you join us at 2S4Y!
