It's actually too hot to be creative, but I had to finish some mag-projects, and when the desk was already just chaos, I decorated a heart too. It's going to be a Summer-gift. (Stamps all from Stempelglede.com.)

"Summertime - and the living is easy...."

Did I say I loooove Summer? And yesterday I filled up my cute blue swimmingpool! Or, "swimming" isn't quite the right name... it's more like a big bathing tub *lol* But it works big time! On hot days like this I'll just jump in and smile like the kids do when they play with water... Sooo relaxing! And cooling. And refreshing...

"Ettertanke" - "Reflection"

When spending time cropping and fixing photos for the mag, I've discovered that this work is perfect to combine with quiet reflection. My thoughts somehow fly more freely when my hands are busy... And - it suits me perfect nowadays. I need some time for reflection. And this tiny discovery inspired me to make a new canvas based on the theme "Reflection". You'll also find it in my shop - Små gleder.

Trust in your self

One more canvas - and yes, I know I'm totally hooked... Every single free minute - in between scanning, photoing and layouting for the mag - I just have to paint! I guess I have to concider it as necessary petrol for my engine *lol* Wish you all a great weekend!

Our design team spent the last weekend together - and it's always so much fun! We even had both time and inspiration to be creative...! Usually I just chat & laugh, but this time I actually made 5 cards - and all of them decorated "on all four sides" (Quote: Lena Katrine & the crazy usetwodaysonasinglecard-gang...) 4 of the cards are for the August issue of Ett trykk, but the fifth one is the one shown in this post.

Fresh colors on my veranda

As you can see we have a H*U*G*E veranda with tons of space... one Summer we even placed a big swimmingpool in one of the corners - and we still had plenty of room left... I love all the space, but it's a challenge to furnish and an even bigger challenge to make it cosy & inspiring. I had so many ideas for my newpainted fresh group, but when I first placed it on the veranda, it just looked strange... like some colored dots here and there! I was SO close to paint the entire floor white! (And sometimes it may be ok to have a drop dead serious practical man that stops my great, but maybe a little bit unpractical ideas....) I ended up buying some colored pillows, plastic carpets and lots of flowers. And I like the way it all turned out :) So - if you're travelling nearby this Summer, pleas stop by for a break on my cosy & inspiring veranda! You're welcome :)

Therapeutic painting

I'm actually finding this canvas painting therapeutic. First of all it makes me take some time to find a focus - a theme for the painting, and usually the theme is inspired by my thoughts and feelings the actual day. Finding focus is a good thing! Especially on days that feels either overwhelming or chaotic. Second - the painting need colors that suit the theme and my mood. That makes me take some time off to feel. And that's a good thing too, don't you agree? And third - doing the painting is really calming. I have to consentrate, and that gives my busy head some time off. I guess I don't have to say that that is good *lol*

Furniture renewal

It was SO needed! Our outdoor furniture didn't exactly shine in glory... We actually planned to get rid off it. And - no doubt - that would have been the easiest solution! But I kind of like this group of chairs and table... I decided it was worth a try - with water, brush and a strong washing powder...

All ready for a fresh layer of paint!

At first I thought about painting it all in white - in the very popular Shabby Chic French Country style kind of way... But, hey - why do it like everybody else? :) I'm longing for some fresh colors in my life - in both a litterary and an abstract meaning, so why not paint the furniture in happy colors? Here is a sneak peek:

Home again...

I'm home again, after some fantastic days in Greece :) Relaxed, tanned and thankful. This will not be the last time, that's for sure!

This week is the big C O N C E R T week. One of my choirs, Borre Vocale, holds it's annual Summer Consert tonight, and the other one, DameEtagen, on Saturday. The first one more classical, the second more groovy :) I'd love to see you there!

And, it's time to create stuff for the August issue of Ett trykk. But I'm struggling... Feels like I've forgotten how to make cards! My hands just want to make canvases...! If you have a cure for this, please let me know :)
