Painting / collage

Just a picture made during my last Art Therapy week in Malvik.
We usually get several exercises from our teacher,
but I also usually paint a "Tea break" picture when I'm in the mood
and we have some time off. These paintings are "go with the flow" paintings.
I just play and try out new techniques just for fun.

Still, it surprises me every time:
the unconsciousness plays along!
And when I take a look at the painting
after some weeks, I always find stuff that either
shows straight to the point what I focused on during the week
or things that reveals my inner self in new ways.

Did I say I love Art Therapy?

More hearts

Just a picture of some more hearts... Made 3 new ones yesterday.
Now I have to go hunting for some more colorful buttons.
I've tons of buttons, but all brownish colored...
I like them to be bright! Playfull! Happy!

Back to work... I'm writing a text from the last week at my Art Therapy study. The main theme is "sensing".

Stand up for yourself

I've had the whole day of and big plans for the day: spending it in my studio, offcourse :) And I wanted to paint a nice picture, but didn't get it right at all... *hmfr* So I had two choices: Give up - or start playing. Leave the thought of making something nice'n right and use the day having fun. And it worked - I started having fun! With paint, collage elements, pens, papers... and several layers.
I'll place this collage in my tiny shop... You can find it here.
Wish you all a great weekend! *smile*

New glasses

I haven't been wearing glasses for many, many years, but my rough use of lences finally got to the point where I had to "bite in the bitter apple" (to say it in real good Petter Solberg Norwenglish....). So I went to the shop and ordered a pair. And - taaadaaaa - this is the new me!
It's really strange to use glasses... I feel dizzy, and all I can "see" is the frames! But I suppose I get use to 'em... I know it'll be good for my eyes to have a break from the lences.
The next thing on my "Got to do"-list, is to order time at the hairdresser... My hair is a total disaster. Period. I'm thinking about cutting it short again... and do something with the color. Good tips are very welcome :)
I'm practicing my role as a serious student nowadays. Trying to read some of the litterature, writing the report from last week of studies - and preparing for the upcoming one... That means that I'm not spending time in my studio. But maybe in the weekend. I'm finally feeling a tiny touch of inspiration running through my body. That's usually a good sign :)

Men ka du tru - kæm tå dæm passe mæ?

Hvit lue

Ja, itj veit æ...

(Og hvis det er noen der ute som digger å strikke, så betaler jeg gjerne!)

My first homemade granny square blanket

As I've probably bragged about earlier, I learned to crochet this summer. And I've just finished my very first blanket! Okey, it's not the biggest... but it's possible to add more squares later if I want to. I'm so satisfied with it and it fits perfect in my new office!

The furnishing of the room is a bit temporary. I'm pretty sure that our new sofa (a white Karlstad from Ikea) will be moved from the sitting room and into my new office. We need a new one for the sitting room... but while waiting for the right sofa, I remounted my old bed that I bought more than 10 years ago. It'll do for now...

So far, the best part of the room is the wallsticker. I love it. Simple, but so beautiful. And the text is my own version of a quote. (Sorry, don't know how to translate it...)

Tomorrow I'm off to raid some second hand stores! I'll show you pictures of my new treasures :)

And a couple of pictures from a trip outdoors.

Do you have any ideas for my new office?

It's time for finishing my new office, and I need some good advice for how to furnish it. But first - some pictures from today's process. The room has been green since we bought it in 2000, and the color is nice, but I need some refreshment! The first step of the way is to paint the walls white.
The room has a slanting roof and it's cute & cozy, but oh, so unpractical.... there are 3 built in closets.
I've totally fallen in love in the gorgeous ligth mint color from the 50-60, and yesterday I got my self some paint (Bengalack). And look what I've used it for...
I've painted the 3 doors!
Okey, back to my need of help... How do I furnish the room? It's going to be a combined office and guestroom, but I still don't know if I'm going to use a permanent guestbed or just make it easy to place one whenever needed... Time will show :) But I need a place to have my desk and the book shelves (it's actually two, so it's possible to either have 2 low ones or one high...), and a comfortable chair (or a sofa/bed). Any ideas? Would it be best to have the desk where it is placed now? Or on the opposite side? In front of the windom? And what about the chair/bed? And the shelves?
I'm also thinking of putting up wallpaper on the wall where the desk is now. What do you think? And is it the 'right' wall? Or will it make the room look odd? This is the wallpaper.

Well... back to work... But please let me know if you have any ideas, ok? Thanks :)

Isa-stamps!

Some while ago I was SO lucky to receive one of the gorgeous stamp sheets designed by Isabelle Norris. I'm totally in love! You can see the whole sheet here. Thanks, Isa *hugs*

Good bye, Christmas...

I made only a few Christmas cards this year. This is one of them, made for the mag.
A cute little accordion booklet...

Wish you all a nice Sunday :) Enjoy the last day of the Christmas Holiday!

My new sitting room

I totally forgot to show you my new sitting room! It still misses some new (and white) paint on the walls, and even maybe one with wallpaper... Time will show. But I really love the new bookshelves. They make the room so much lighter and brighter :) And I'm so happy to fill the room with cute details in red, pink and turquoise.
Wish you all a great day :)

Trykkpressa - januarutfordring

Det er tid for ny utfordring i bloggen vår, og denne måneden utfordrer vi dere til å lage et eller annet med tomme doruller. Dere kan levere bidrag frem til 25. januar. For mer info, se bloggen vår.
